Respite & Short-Term Stays

A furnished room and full care, for a week or a month. For when the caregiver needs care too.

Who uses respite

The caregiver needs surgery

You cannot lift, drive or manage medications while recovering. She needs somewhere safe for three weeks.

Coming home from hospital

Discharge says she can go home. You look at the stairs and you know she can’t. A recovery stay bridges the gap.

You need a break

Caregiver burnout is real and it ends badly for both of you. A week off is maintenance, not selfishness.

Trying it out

The lowest-risk way to find out whether she likes it here — before anyone sells a house or signs a year.

How it works

  • Minimum stay is one week. Most respite stays run two to four weeks.
  • The room comes furnished — bed, linens, dresser. Bring her clothes, her medications and something familiar for the nightstand.
  • Care is identical to what long-term residents receive. Same meals, same staff, same activities. Respite guests are not treated as visitors.
  • We still need the physician’s report and care assessment. For a short stay we can usually turn this around in two to three days.
  • Billed weekly. If it turns into a permanent move — which happens often — we roll it into the monthly rate with no new deposit.

Availability moves fast

With only a handful of rooms, respite availability depends entirely on what is open that month. If you have a surgery date or a trip booked, call as far ahead as you can: (239) 537-7887.

Next step

Come stand in the room

Twenty minutes in the house will tell you more than any website can. Stay for lunch if you like.
